DEAL FAIL: iPad 4 offering on Groupon more expensive than recommended retail

Groupon is selling the newly released iPad 4 for more than the recommended retail price.


Above is a snapshot of the prices that Groupon is offering on their iPad deal while the recommended retail price as reported by Mybraodband.co.za is shown below.
  • 16 GB iPad 4 with Wi-Fi + Cellular: R6,499
  • 32 GB iPad 4 with Wi-Fi + Cellular: R7,499
  • 64 GB iPad 4 with Wi-Fi + Cellular: R8,599

The 16, 32 and 64GB are all R900 above the retail price.
My suggestion, wait a week and buy it from Dionwired or the iStore at the recommended retail price.
And if you have discovery vitality you might even get more discount at the iStore, but not sure if that special is still applicable.

NOTE: Please take a look at their iPhone 5 deal as well, I have a suspicion that this is also overpriced but I am waiting for official pricing on the iPhone 5 before I can confirm this.
