UPDATE - DEALS: Kalahari Stackable Vouchers (R200 off)

Update: Kalahari has requested that I remove the post. The voucher codes are no longer valid.

See extract from the email Kalahari sent me below:

"To clarify the situation: a set number of promotional coupons were issued to specific customers and only the coupons presented for redemption by those customers will be regarded as valid. To the extent that our promotional codes have been used otherwise, they will be invalidated, if they have not already.

It's quite clear from the terms and conditions on our site that promotional coupons are issued at our discretion under such terms and conditions as we determine, that they are not transferrable to other people, and that they cannot be used to purchase other vouchers or coupons.
"

So they might be retracting the purchases done with those codes.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

    1. In fact hotsadeals probably violates some laws by publicly sharing a vulnerability like this. If I were you I would delete this page.

    2. Instead of sprouting nonsense bring forth such laws that you think are applicable. People can spread word of bargains if they like. It's not up to clients to worry about the business practices of retailers.

    3. Are you talking to me? Well I guess by now they should have made the bug fix so I guess it's safe to say the following... What kind of bargain grants me a R1000 gift voucher for free? To me that is theft and I told Kalahari and gave them the purchase number and voucher code.

    4. You must be proud to be such a goodie two shoes. Admin, I agree with errickcoetzee below, you don't need users like jason that run and tell on everything like a whiney little girl. We are here for bargains, and if I pick up a hundred bucks on the street I'm gonna keep it. Btw, i went and scored nicely after your post, so I guess kalahari doesn't want to fix their hole. pfft.

    5. Hey Jason, from an I.T. Business Analysts point of view. The entire I.T. department should be raked over the coals. The fact that they never did proper deployment testing, UAT, etc to allow this "exploit" is unforgivable. That being said, us as customers, are within out rights to place these orders I would believe. I don't see how their cock up, is now our responsibility. You seem to be one of those know it all, holier than thou IT types. Who would have thought an IT nerd could be a douche as well.

  3. Jason, Just being logged on to this site, means you are privy to information that other people aren't exposed to. This is 'unfair' on other people! Yet, how can you discredit the site and this post, if your visit the site for these very purposes? Administrator, please remove people on your subscription that Joined the site for specials and deals, Yet once they receive it - would discredit you.

    1. You are all spineless. All I did was go out of my way to alert a South African business about something that could leave a mark on their reputation. Wouldn't you want the same?. I guess it's also my fault that I have a conscience and want it to remain clear? But... You all need a scapegoat. If my comments are so bad for your little joy ride, just delete them please.

    2. My Previous comment somehow went missing but I will give it another shot.

Jason, I don't mind that you alerted Kalahari, as they would have figured it out eventually, not to mention that the exploit was open for a few days prior to HotSADeals posting about it. That said your "demand" to have SADeals pull down the post is not within your right to do so, as you neither own the rights of have any legal recourse with which to make SA Deals take it down (read: you don't own Kalahari).

Secondly was was irritating was the fact that you said everyone getting the deal was stealing or that their actions were tantamount to theft, although you recently purchased (should rather say "tried to purchase") a TV from FirstShop, obviously aware it must have been a pricing error, and yet failed to notify them of their mistake. Makes that line of "I guess its also my fault that i have a conscience" kinda redundant, and makes it seem as though when you can benefit from a deal its ok, but if other people benefit its somehow wrong? Looks like your throwing stones at others from your little glass house there.

People seem to be genuinely upset, partly because they didn't get the end result they wanted, as did you with the TV, so you should be able to relate to their disappointment, anger and frustration.

PS. I wouldn't recommend anyone threaten or harass Jason, as it is tantamount to bullying and harassment which he can take up with the police against you. Rather pull his argument apart, its much more fun.

    3. Thanks Rosco, I fully agree with everything you have said. The only thing I would add is that with Kalahari it was their own fault - no frontend or backend validation. I myself am awaiting their reply / refund... BUT with FirstShop it wasn't their mistake, but their suppliers! Well I guess because FirstShop automated the stock / prices from the supplier and didn't check beforehand I guess their supplier is safe.

    4. Unlike Anna Marie who needs a better job, my intentions were never a "discount", rather: an interest in the validation failures, how Kalahari would respond and how it would affect business. ALSO, I am just going to leave it. It's not like this site has proper SEO anyways... Thanks HotSaDeals! :)

    5. Firstly, thanks for changing the pic to the a troll face, so much better than that real pic of you that you had up. Secondly, I'm a full time student so I don't even have a job. Lets hope there will be some good plastic surgeon vouchers on here that you can stack up and make use of in the future. BYE LOSER, we wont miss you.

  6. Hello everybody

If Kalahari takes the drastic decision to cancel your orders because of this snitching jackass JASON BANFIELD, then please make your feelings known on the consumer satisfaction website HelloPeter about how disatisfied you are with Kalahari https://hellopeter.com/kalahari-com/compliments-and-complaints

    1. That was my plan all along. Their terms and conditions, can't override SA law. I'm not 100% sure what it is in these circumstances, but...If I'm in a retail store and I have a coupon, and it says its only valid for one use and its only allowed to accept one, and they accept 3. They can't turn around and say,oh wait, no, that isn't right, give me back the stuff.

  7. is this the same Jason that was going on about the first shop error? and how they have to honour it even though it was a clear pricing error?

  8. Fayaaz you have every right to post this deal. Everyone is looking for a bargain. It is not your problem if kalahari makes an error. People like Jason should not be on this site if they aren't looking for a good deal. I bet he is an employer of kalahari using an alias to spy on any errors made on their behalf.

  9. So now they have invalidated the vouchers that i brought this morning! What can I do about it now?

  10. Wow this is the same Jason that is wanting to sue First Shop, talk about hypocritical, This site is awesome and it is people like Jason that need to be removed from shopping for deals, First Shop had a legitimate glitch in their system, with Kalahari if they are issuing coupons to select clients then on their system those coupons should be linking to those customer accounts, if a voucher is not allowed to be bought with coupons then the system should not allow this to happen, should Kalahari try and retract anything from me, I will close my account and stick to Takealot, I will also then post my dissatisfaction about their system on HelloPeter, pity there is no HelloPeter equivalent to complain about hipocrits like Jason

  12. My voucher was also made invalid, I gave them a call and requested refund, the lady was very nice and I should receive the refund on my account in 3-5 days, at which point I can cash it out back to my credit card, it is was hassle free.
This sight is awesome, please carry on with the great work, people like Jason please piss off and annoy other sites.

    1. How do you know if your voucher was made invalid? By just redeeming it?

    2. Yip that is exactly what I did

  13. I am not a fan of this Jason character, but Kalahari does have it in their T&Cs that vouchers are not allowed to be used to buy other vouchers. While it was a glitch in their system, I can see why they invalidate the vouchers that people have bought with these stackable vouchers. Clearly against their rules. I would ask for refunds if your vouchers got invalidated.

At least I know of people who already received their items who used it to get R200 discount on items instead of vouchers, so would be interesting to see how Kalahari deals with the orders of items that haven't gone through yet, or whether they will allow that at least.

  14. LOL goodie badge goes to Jason. I am off to go get all the coupon codes at Pick and pay now and only buy items that I can get them for. Sue me.
