The Fine Print
To redeem:
1. Buy the deal on the Wicount website, then go to the Wicounts Movie Page and complete the online form with your Wicount details, cellphone number etc. This step must be completed by 31 October 2012.
2.Then, from the 1st of November your unique USSD number will be sms’d to you. You must then use your cellphone to dial the allocated USSD number and access the Movie Tickets menu.
3. Two movie ticket vouchers will then be sent to you via sms.
4. You will then need to insert or present the voucher numbers when purchasing the tickets from the Ster-Kinekor or Nu Metro Self Service Terminals within 24 hours of receiving your vouchers.
- One Wicount valid for one cellphone number.
- USSD line is charged at 20 cents per 20 seconds.
- Two tickets are issued a week only and can not be transferred to a future date.
- Movie tickets are only valid for 24 hours after being issued.
- Membership will be valid from the 1st November 2012.
- Wicount is valid until 31 Oct 2012 but Membership is valid for six months.
- No refunds will be provided for redeemed Wicount Coupons.

ReplyDeleteDeal was initially set to run for 7 days... they then reduced it to 1 day as the news spread and people started buying like crazy. Deal sold out at 1001 vouchers sold in total before 11pm.

Just goes to show that Ster-Kinekor et al can actually sell tickets at the sub-R10 level and still survive. They make their big $$$ out of the ripoff concession stand.
U forget the cost 50% or more they have to pay to wicount...
